(March, 2013) Franklin International has extended its well-received line of Titebond WeatherMaster sealants with a product that the company believes to be so superior as to be dubbed “Ultimate.”
The new product, Titebond WeatherMaster ULTIMATE MP Sealant, offers the same high-performance characteristics of other WeatherMaster sealants – but also offers the value and convenience of a multipurpose product. Professional contractors and DIYers can use it on a wide range of construction materials, from glass to metal, PVC to masonry, steel to stone. It’s ideal for sealing windows and doors and for metal and vinyl siding, waterproofing, general roofing applications – including metal roofs – vents, gutters, exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS), expansion joints and concrete tilt walls. It can go on the road, too, sealing metal on RVs, tractor-trailers and buses.
Whatever the application, the new WeatherMaster ULTIMATE MP offers notable benefits over other sealants. First, its advanced polymer formulation significantly outperforms urethane- or silicone-based sealants. It fills gaps of up to an inch – and shrinks less than one percent when cured. Exceptional joint movement capability of +/- 50 (translucent formulation, +/- 25 percent) assures permanent flexibility; and high resistance to UV rays, heat and humidity allows the sealant to maintain a weather-tight seal.
DIYers and contractors will like this sealant as much for ease of application as for durability. They typically do not need to prime the substrate before applying the sealant, saving time and installation costs. The introductory selection of more than 20 colors, plus translucent, makes it simple to match WeatherMaster ULTIMATE MP to substrates – although it can be painted any color just two hours after application. (Translucent formulation not paintable.) Also, it easily extrudes in temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
This sealant is easy on the environment, too. A low VOC content of 9 g/L for all colors (28 g/L for translucent) enables contractors to meet green building standards for LEED, NAHB, CARB and Green Globes.
The new WeatherMaster ULTIMATE MP Sealant is offered in 10.1-ounce cartridges and 20-ounce sausage packs and is available at building supply and hardware stores.
